NRE Class Assignment Process for 2023-2024
In the following weeks, our staff will begin building next year’s class rosters. This communication to parents is to clarify the process for class assignments for the upcoming school year and give parents an opportunity to provide input so we can better address each student's educational experience. We understand class placement can be a highly personal and often an emotional process for our students and their parents, so please know that we will handle this process with respect and integrity, keeping the needs of our students as the first priority.
Class lists will be developed with attention to the following areas, to provide balance in all classrooms and to promote universal student success:
Heterogeneous academic grouping
Learning style
Special needs and/or accommodations
Social and/or behavioral considerations
Gender
Parental input
Our goal is to assign the best possible placement for each child. Our staff is involved in the class placement process by communicating individual student needs. We also understand children have unique needs, which you would like us to consider in classroom selection as well. While we do not take specific teacher requests, we would like to give you the opportunity to share your thoughts about considerations for placement for your child's specific needs. Parents who would like their input considered should submit this form no later than Friday, April 14, 2023.
Thank you for your support with this process,
Katie Lynch

Dear NRE Community -
We started the week with an accident in the parking lot and we almost had another one when a car did a uturn on Southpark right in front of the school barely missing another car. We have had multiple cars continuing to pull into the BUS loop during drop-off/pick-up times. We really would love to finish the school year strong with no more injuries.
Please follow the rules as they are there to keep everyone safe:
Slow down and proceed with caution
Watch for pedestrians at all times
Pull into the parking lot at drop-off/pick-up and go 10mph (do not enter the bus loop)
Watch for people directing traffic at crosswalks and obey their signals (we can often see tiny humans better because we are on the ground with them and not in a car)
Monday we celebrated our EAIs and EAIVs which are our paraprofessionals who support our students in and out of the classrooms. They go above and beyond making sure students have what they need to learn. They run lunches and recesses, support our JRCs (Junior Recess Coaches), keep our cafeteria clean with Mr. Dean, pull small groups in and out of the classrooms, make copies etc. We could not do our jobs without them and we are so thankful for them! This is often a thankless job but we really are so appreciative of all that they do for NRE.
On Tuesday, it was National Librarian Day so we celebrated Mrs. Peck. Mrs. Peck has transformed the NRE library to be a safe, inviting, and therapeutic place for students. Her smile and genuine connections with students does not go unnoticed. The amount of knowledge Mrs. Peck has about the books in the library, where to find them if she doesn't have them, fun activities etc. is amazing. We are lucky to have her at NRE!
Also, this week was Assistant Principal week and what you don't see behind the scenes is all the work Mrs. Lehnert puts into her job. From checking in on students and teachers to co-coordinating CMAS to being my right had lady to helping students make good choices and communicating with parents (...and of course the list goes on and on) she does it with a smile on her face and warmth in her heart. She is rocking her first year in administration and it isn't a job for the faint of heart. I am so appreciative of having her on my leadership team.
I hope to see you at the PTA Adult Night Out at Max Taps tonight! Enjoy your weekend! Be Safe!
