What I decided to do for my project for art is the United Church on Main Street. Ever since I've moved to Northfield, Vermont I've always been intrigued by the church and its location. Events have always surrounded the church like labor day, Christmas, Mothers day, and more all revolve around the church. When I think of the common and its visual representation I think of the church. The most critical elements of my scene and location that I wanted to highlight in my banner, such as the clock on the church. I wanted to make sure that I used that element to bring attention to the church. What I learned from the study of John Knox’s photography was to take pictures from other perspectives like lower to the ground, or higher. Also, to use other elements like have a bush or tree kinda off center in the picture. Making this project I took Sabra Fields' work of how she makes her building and how she uses a bold sky for her background. I used some of the same color scheme she has in her work for my project.
