Swimming: Termly Reflection
Our swimming squads have enjoyed a busy and rewarding term in the pool. Our Boys’ and Girls’ squads represented Clifton with pride at two galas hosted in Howick, where they competed with determination and excellent sportsmanship against strong opposition. Our Mixed squad also rose to the occasion at two galas at TWC, showing wonderful team spirit, commitment and heart in every race.
We were delighted to host our annual Inter-house Gala, which once again brought out fantastic energy and healthy competition. Congratulations to Trojans, who emerged as overall winners on the day. We also held our Championships Gala, where our swimmers had the opportunity to showcase their talent and hard work. The following pupils were crowned age-group champions:
U9 Boys: Harrison Turner
U9 Girls: Ava Pickhard
U10 Boys: Christian van den Berg
U10 Girls: Lucy D’Aubrey
U11 Boys: Aphiwe Mtawali
U11 Girls: Lauren McMurray
U12 Boys: Trae Du Plessis
U12 Girls: Grace Galloway
Open Boys: Campbell Turner
Open Girls: Annabella Mitchell-Innes
We are incredibly proud of the way our swimmers have trained and competed this term, especially pushing through the cold mornings and tougher sessions with resilience and a positive attitude. Their grit, improvement and enthusiasm for swimming have been truly inspiring.
Thank you to our parents for their ongoing support, transport to early-morning practices and loud encouragement at galas. I look forward to seeing the continued growth, confidence and development of our swimmers next year.
