Boeresportdag: 29 October

2025 saw another fantastic Boeresport function, brought to life by the tireless efforts of our incredible staff and interns, who threw themselves wholeheartedly into leading every activity.

What never fails to amaze me is how everyone comes together on the day, teachers, the admin team, interns, ground staff, and kitchen staff, all playing their part with energy and enthusiasm. It’s this amazing teamwork that makes Boeresport such a special and memorable event for the whole Clifton community! I am incredibly grateful for the hard work of all the adults in charge of the stations.

Once again, our teetannies looked extra smart this year, proudly decked out in their new aprons, and we even had our very own tee-oom, Mr Fleischack.

This year marked my 22nd Boeresportdag, which I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of organising, a highlight every single year.

Mr Wagner ensured the smooth running of the events, ringing the bell every ten minutes between the rollicking Boeremusiek that set the lively atmosphere from the very beginning.

All the children have their favourite stations, whether it’s shooting catties, pillow fights, tug-of-war, sack races, throwing the aardvark, or jukskei, just to name a few.

The delicious treats were, as always, greatly appreciated, and Sunny and her kitchen crew truly spoilt us with vetkoek, koeksisters, and melktert.

The winners of the event will be presented with the Ossewatrofee Trophy in Chapel on Monday. The results will also be published in next week’s Newsletter, so keep an eye out!
