Remote Learning: Infant & Junior School

The information below provides a broad overview of the Remote Learning Programme for our Infant and Junior pupils.

Our approach is based around three key areas:-

  1. Content: We aim to provide a structure for daily work, but one that allows flexibility which children and families can access to suit them.

  2. Contact: We aim to provide more direct contact between staff and children, both in terms of academic and pastoral needs. Teaching staff are available to parents wishing to discuss any concerns they have about their child.

  3. Connection: We will share the amazing work taking place right across the Infant & Junior School and celebrate key achievements with the wider community.

Seesaw

The Junior School uses Seesaw as a remote learning platform for pupils in Reception through to Year 3. Teachers will post daily curriculum tasks and activities for pupils to complete, it will allow them to upload their work to a secure and private area that only their teacher can see and through which, they can give individual feedback to each pupil. Seesaw also allows parents and carers to communicate directly with their child's teacher, to ask questions and maintain regular communication. The application can be easily used on tablets, laptops and PCs and enables us to facilitate remote learning with flexibility and efficiency to create a more personalised learning environment for each child.

Children in Years 4 - 6 will continue to access work via Google Classroom, which enables them to access course materials and video lessons for class teaching.

Pastoral Care: Infant & Junior School
