GCSE Results 2023
Key Information
Publication Date: GCSE Examination Results will be published on 24 August 2023.
Online Availability: The publication of results is embargoed by the exam boards until 8am and will be available on Parent Portal and Student Portal as soon as possible after this time.
In no circumstances will any results be given out over the telephone.
Paper copies: Results will be available to collect from 8.30am - 12.30pm in the Sixth Form Centre. Refreshments will be provided during the morning.
Advice and Support
For advice and support on the day, please see either Katie Williams or Clare Heyes in the Sixth Form Centre to arrange an appointment with a senior member of staff. We can also speak to you via Google Meet, telephone or email on the day or in the days following. Please email katiewilliams@chschool.co.uk to book a time.
Promoting GCSE Results
Please be aware that Cheadle Hulme School no longer sends exam results directly to the local media although pupil success stories will be highlighted via the School website and CHS Social Media channels.
The External Relations Team will be on site during Results Day itself to capture stories and these will be shared via CHS’s Blog (https://www.cheadlehulmeschool.co.uk/blog/ as well as possibly CHS Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
If anyone is unable to speak to a member of the External Relations team on Results Day and still wishes to share their story, please provide photos, videos and stories via email er@chschool.co.uk or complete the usual One CHS Google Form.
You can also use the hashtag #CHSuccess in your captions on social media.

Explanation of Results
All GCSE exams will be graded on the 9-1 scale. Further information about this can be found on Parent Portal in the document called “9-1 Grading FAQ”
Appeals
You can read a guide to appeals on the JCQ’s website, as well as on Page 9 of Ofqual’s Student Guide to Awarding Grades.
If you think a grade is wrong, you can ask us to complete a Review of Marking to check whether there has been a procedural or administrative error. This must be done by 24 August 2023 for Year 13 students who need to do a priority appeal pending a university decision, or by 28 September 2023 in all other cases.
