Introducing the

Introducing the
External Relations Department
A very warm welcome to families who have just joined our school community, and welcome back to all our existing families! We hope you have had a wonderful summer break.
As our green door opens once again, we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves. The role of the External Relations team is to tell the story of our incredible school community and keep you connected to everything that's happening in and around CHS. Before the term swings into full action next week, here’s a quick rundown of where you can access news, how you can success with us, plus a few other important updates.
The Friday Flyer / Head's Newsletter
You will receive an update from CHS every Friday. Next week, you will receive the first bi-weekly Head’s Update of the year, followed by the Friday Flyer the week after (bi-weekly), which includes a round-up of school news, important dates, and upcoming events.
Sharing your stories
We love celebrating Waconian achievements and the inspiring moments that happen in and out of the classroom. If you would like to submit a story about your child's achievements, you can do so by completing this form.
The Ed. Podcast and CHSTV
Throughout the year, we work with a team of students and staff to produce the Ed Podcast and our CHSTV episodes, where we share in-depth conversations with Old Waconians and give a glimpse into school life. You can catch up on episodes on YouTube and Spotify.
We’ll be recruiting our team of student producers and directors soon, so please encourage your child to get involved this year. They can email us directly via er@chschool.co.uk.
Photo and video consent
We love celebrating our Waconians' achievements and giving you a glimpse into the CHS Community through photos and videos on our social media pages. As we continue to review our approach to photo and video consent, we want to reassure you that we take your child's privacy very seriously. We are always mindful of how we use images, and we're committed to doing so in the safest way possible.
If you're happy for your child to be included in photos and videos, there is no action needed. If you would prefer your child not to be included, please email us at er@chschool.co.uk to opt out.
For any larger projects such as advertisements, we will always seek additional, specific consent.
Celebrating Cheadle Hulme School's architecture
We're excited to announce that CHS will be participating in this year's Heritage Open Days with a series of open afternoons focusing on our School's rich architectural heritage.
To make this event truly special, we're inviting pupils, parents, staff, and alumni to contribute their creative talents to an exhibition celebrating the architecture of our school and its surroundings.
If you'd like to be involved, full guidance, including inspirational materials, can be found here. Please note that the deadline for this project is 9th September for physical submissions and 11th September for digital submissions.
The 1 in 6 Campaign: A Campaign for the whole community
We are proud to manage the 1 in 6 Bursary Campaign, which is helping to make a CHS education accessible to more students. We believe our inclusive ethos, welcoming pupils from all walks of life, is what sets CHS apart. It's what Old Waconians remember, what parents value, and what visitors notice immediately.
This sense of belonging prepares every Waconian for life beyond school. Yet today we face one of our greatest challenges: the cost of living crisis and the introduction of VAT on school fees threaten the very diversity that defines CHS. That is not the future we want for our school.
