Treats on the Trail This Thursday October 24 - Candy Donations Appreciated
We’re looking forward to one of our favorite annual community events, Treats on the Trails. Treats on the Trails provides a fun, safe trick-or-treating experience for families on the beautiful trails at WMAES. Donations of bags of individually wrapped candy in support of the event are greatly appreciated. Candy donations can be dropped off in either the elementary or secondary office.
Families can begin entering the trails at 5:00. Costumes for students are encouraged but not required. Costumes must be appropriate for school (e.g. no weapons, blood, etc.). We encourage families to bring a bag or bucket for each child that will be receiving candy. We hope you’ll join us for this fun family event!

The last opportunity to begin the trail is at 6:00.

After completing the trail, stop by the cafeteria to visit the Scholastic Book Fair and some of our community partners.

We are excited to share that WMAES will be hosting a school-wide photo shoot on October 21st, and invite all students to participate. This event is a wonderful opportunity to capture the spirit of our school community.
The purpose of the photo shoot is to create a collection of images showcasing our vibrant and diverse student body. These photographs may be featured on our website, in promotional materials, and for other school-related purposes. We look forward to celebrating our students and their accomplishments.
To ensure a smooth and successful day, we kindly request your support with the following:
Uniforms: Please ensure your child comes to school on October 21st wearing their complete school uniform. This will allow the photos to reflect our students in their typical attire, representing our school community authentically.
Photo Permissions: We will reference the media release information you provided on your child’s enrollment or re-enrollment forms. If you did not give permission for your child to be photographed, they will not be included in the photo shoot.
Thank you for being such an important part of the WMAES family. We look forward to capturing special moments together during this event.

🌳 GSRP Nature Walk & Talk with WMAES! 🌳
We invite you and your little ones to join us for our monthly Nature Walk and Talk! These events are a wonderful opportunity for children ages 1–4 and their caregivers to explore nature on our beautiful 62-acre campus. Each session includes a short, guided hike and exploration in our outdoor classroom featuring a sand area, magnet wall, mud kitchen, and more!
Dates & Times:
November 8, December 6, February 7, March 14, April 18, May 9, July 11
Time: 9:00 - 10:30 AM
Where: Meet us at the outdoor classroom space to the left of the Elementary building.
This program is designed to run rain, snow, or shine, so please dress accordingly. No sign-up is required; simply meet us at the designated spot, and we'll begin our adventure together! 🌞🌧️❄️

We are excited to share that Cannonsburg offers a special punch card program for skiing and snowboarding for students (K-12) and their families! This program provides discounted lift tickets, rentals, and even private lessons.
How to Get Your Punch Card
Visit Cannonsburg’s website at www.cannonsburg.com/store.
Select the punch card that’s right for you by clicking on the C-flake icon.
Be sure to include “West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science” and our sponsor's name, Amy Brondyke, during checkout.
Punch Card Benefits
Discounted Lift Tickets for students K-12, with optional cards for parents.
Rental Discounts: $20 for rental equipment (usually $35).
Private Lessons: $10 off private lessons when booked.
Free Tubing Ticket: Once you use all your punches, redeem your card for a free tubing ticket!
Pricing Options
Ages 11+: 6-punch card for $160 or 10-punch card for $195.
Ages 7-10: 6-punch card for $120 or 10-punch card for $155.
