Spring NWEA MAP Growth Testing Begins May 13

Preparing for Success at Home:

• Consistent Routine: Establish a regular bedtime and morning routine to ensure your child is well-rested and alert for testing.

• Nutritious Meals: Provide a healthy breakfast or encourage students to utilize our free breakfast at school.

• Practice Test Skills: Utilize the resources available at Student Resources. Engaging with these materials can familiarize your child with the test format.

• Discuss Testing: Talk about the purpose of the test. Ensure your child knows that it's designed to help them learn and grow, not to judge them.

• Positive Reinforcement: Praise effort and commitment rather than just the outcome. This fosters a growth mindset.

Our spring session of NWEA MAP Growth assessments will start on May 13. At West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science, we administer the NWEA MAP Growth to all students from transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. This spring testing window offers a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate the growth they've achieved throughout the year and helps us make informed instructional decisions as we plan for the next school year.

MAP Growth is a computer-adaptive test that is taken by millions of students worldwide. It dynamically adjusts the difficulty of questions based on your child's responses to accurately measure their achievement levels.
