Welcome back! I hope your family had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. We are excited to welcome students back to campus and settle back into our routines for the remainder of the school year. To help make our first week back a little extra fun, we will be hosting a Popcorn Day this Friday (a big thanks to the Parent Team as always).
As we return, we are also looking ahead to one of our favorite times of year at WMAES, Earth Week. During the week of April 20, students will take part in a wide variety of campus projects and hands-on activities that reflect our school’s strong focus on environmental stewardship and sustainability. It is always a meaningful week for our school community and a great opportunity for students to learn through experiences that connect directly to our environmental science mission.
We also have a fun spirit attire week planned for Earth Week, so be sure to check out the details below.
As the culminating event of Earth Week, we hope you will join us for Family Literacy Night and Open House on Thursday, April 23, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. This will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate student learning, connect as a school community, and enjoy an evening together on campus. All of the details for the evening are included below.
Please also note that M-STEP testing is on the horizon, beginning with our 5th graders the week of April 20. Additional information regarding M-STEP testing is included below.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a strong stretch of learning ahead and a special Earth Week celebration with our students and families.
Warmest regards,
Nathan VanDuinen
Elementary Principal
