Teaching Mathematics for Social Justice
Developed by: Dr Leicha Bragg (Deakin University)
This resource has been created to support teachers to explore how mathematical knowledge and skills can support students to make sense of social justice issues around the world, in the hope it will inspire them to take action. 'Teaching Mathematics for Social Justice' provides opportunities to engage students in real life mathematics that is purposeful and meaningful. It not only addresses aspects of the Mathematics curriculum but also the General Capabilities (and Religious Education).
