The Foundation to Level 10 Mathematics Curriculum Companion is a suite of learning and teaching resources aligned to the Victorian Curriculum. It has been developed in consultation with Victorian primary and secondary teachers. 

NCTM Illuminations (member access only)

lluminations is a website designed by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and supported by the Verizon Foundation. 

It provides a large range of resources for teaching and learning mathematics for grades pre-K—12.

First Steps Mathematics is a series of teacher resource books, made available by the Western Australia Department of Education, that is organised around a set of mathematics outcomes for Number, Measurement, Space and Chance and Data. This series will help teachers to diagnose, plan implement and judge the effectiveness of the learning experiences they provide for students.

This website has a series of 'hands on' units of work from Foundation to Year 6 and beyond. 

This site includes a collection of rich tasks to support the development of students' number sense.

This resource from AAMT provides information and resources in the areas of big ideas, assessment, misconceptions, good teaching and activities. This site is suitable for Grade to Level 7. It has information for both Fractions and Mental Computation. 

This site has dot pictures, photos and strings of photos that can be used for Number Talks.  There are other resources and examples of how these images have been used. 

A range of number games developed by ABC Education and Monash University.

This tool provided by the VCAA comprises a number of easy to administer, practical assessment tasks designed to address a key area of Number. A hierarchy of student responses is identified for each task and, for each of these, an interpretation of what the response might mean is provided together with some targeted teaching suggestions.

Use this tool in a one-on-one interview situation to determine students’ existing mathematical knowledge.
