Learning walks are valuable for professional development and school improvement because they offer opportunities for teachers to observe, reflect on, and share best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
'How-to' Guide, Learning Walks - Aitsl
Each learning walk will have a focus and it is supportive for teachers to have a clear indication of what will be observed on the learning walk. Below are a series of templates that can be used as a starting point to support you to communicate with teachers about the focus as well as support the collection of the observations while you are conducting the learning walk.
There are two versions of the template, Group observation and Individual teacher observation. The group observation sheet can be used when you are wanting to observe multiple classes and record your observations and insights on the one document. The individual sheet may be used when you want to record observations for each individual teacher.
