It's hard to believe we're already coming to the last few weeks of term! One thing I really missed about the last couple of years was the absence of families around the school so I was delighted to see so many parents in the school in May. The big highlight was the fantastic Welcome Back Day organised by Emma and the wonderful Parents' Association. We had over 200 families join us back in the school - some of who had never set foot in our building due to COVID and others that hadn't been with us for over 2 years! It was a fantastic day and I was also very happy to meet our new Junior Infant families who will be joining us in late August.
I was also delighted to welcome families from Junior and Senior Infants back into our school for their annual Teddy Bears' Picnic. Because we weren't able to host them for the last couple of years, all 4 classes and their families joined us for some goodies and a book to take home. We were also delighted to have parents join us for our Parents' Gardening Club and fitness classes.
It's also been lovely to have our after-school clubs restarting again with keyboard classes, sports' classes, art through Irish, our gadening club, and hurling - it's great to hear a buzz around the place after school every day.
June is going to be busy with school tours and Sports' Days and all sorts of other fun. We're also preparing to say goodbye to our 6th class and our graduation will take place on June 24th. We'll keep you up to date with anything else that's happening in the school.
Until then, keep happy, safe and learning.
Simon
