Hi all,
What a wet few weeks it's been! I hope all of you have kept dry and haven't been too badly affected by the flooding. Yesterday the Barrow burst its banks so the Leighlin Road is going to be out of action for at least a few days.
This newsletter has some really important information about the next few weeks including information on Friendship Week and more. I'm looking forward to receiving some recipes for our annual Cook Together Book so please send them on before the end of this week. Cook Together is always a very special day in our school with food from all over the world. If you've any simple recipes from your country, culture or background, we'd love to see them! We need about 24 recipes (keep them really short if you can!) to make our book.
Other than that, we're looking forward to seeing you as we open up the school to share food together and to share all the work the children are doing. Our open house starts at 1pm where you can go into classrooms to talk to the children about their projects.
Keep happy, safe and learning
Simon
Every year we produce a lovely book featuring recipes send into the school from our families. If possible, we'd love to get as many as possible by Friday, 30th January. Please send your receipes to Simon or Siobhan by email or through the Aladdin app.
In order to maximise space, please make sure the recipe is simple and short enough to fit on one page. If you can let us know the country that the receipe comes from, that would be very helpful. We can source the images of the food.

Thank you to everyone that supported our winter concert this year. We made a few changes to the concert format so I hope you enjoyed them. One thing we were really proud about were the number of pupils who presented their interests on the stage. Well done to all the children from the Student Council, the French and Portuguese clubs and all the other groups who showcased our values. I'm sure you're also all wondering which audience sang "Hey Jude" the loudest.... that award goes to Wednesday evening's gang! 😂
A number of really interesting classes will be taking place over the coming months including candlemaking workshops and the launch of an online book club! If you haven't already signed up, please do so as quickly as possible as places are limited.
Our classes have been making some beautiful artwork this month. Here's a small sample!
We are striving to be a paperless school. It is important to check your emails as most communication comes this way. If you aren't receiving emails, please check with the school to ensure that we have your correct address.
