I feel my work was quite successful in meeting the requirements of the final brief - which was to create a visual representation of the song; that incorporates its themes and the time period in which it was made. I showed examples of pop culture, music, news and fashion through the use of images.
I used colours to symbolise the era. Also referencing pop culture aided this idea. Sci-fi was powerful during this era so I used a RGB flash effect, black and white stripes and a galaxy background.
I think my choice of imagery was quite interesting and appealing to an audience. Its successful in keeping the audience engaged although its on loop.
At the end of the video, I used a flame animation in order to suggest to the audience the genre of the song: rock.
I downloaded the necessary images from google and other search engines then opened them in photoshop. In photoshop I used the Transform tool and distorted the images using several effects to add a stylistic effect. I then used keynote to create a slideshow, and once it was complete I exported it as an Quicktime file and then used media encoder to convert it into a H.264, HD 1080p 25 video.
I think my choice of imagery helped to attract the audience and keep them intrigued.
To improve I'd use other sub topics instead of repeating slide e.g. food. Furthermore, I'd also reference the song within the video through use of hints that its coming up e.g. photos of the band, or mention of their previous songs.
