looking and looking....
The most entertaining, goofy, informative, and just damn cool YouTube channel is Braille Skateboarding of SF-based professional/sponsored skateboarder Aaron Kyro and his posse at Braille Skateboarding. Their philosophy is skateboarding for everyone and building a skateboarding-loving/learning community like with Braille Army (Braille Skate Android phone app or for iPhone and has its own YouTube channel!)
goofy incarnate
The first of all skills and base of all tricks.
Aaron Kyro's insightful, detailed breakdown with slo-mo sequences of correct and incorrect technique.
Summary of common mistakes:
Back foot
Staying down too long/not rotating the ankle out (hence keeping the board down)
Not lifting it when dragging the front foot to try and lift the board up
Front foot
Not dragging the side of the front foot on the board (so sole is almost perpendicular to the board) to bring the board up and to level it out
Timing off
Correct timing: as soon as your pop the board, drag your front foot (not before)
