Mark "The Mark" Johnson
by Mickayla Kowalski
Mark Johnson was recently welcomed in the newspaper staff here at Badin High. With his friendly personality and interest in journalism, Johnson will be a great addition to our new staff.
When asked, “How would you describe yourself?” Johnson thought for a minute then interestingly responded, “Slightly Asian.” Interestingly enough, Johnson does have some Asian roots which allows him to embrace his outward appearance to others. Johnson's grandma, Yuni, is Japanese. Seeing Johnson in the hallway, you wouldn't first guess that he’s partly Asian and friends might not think of him as this ethnicity either.
But his friends would say that Johnson in an interesting person. Bryan Henson even stated, “Mark is the funniest person I have ever met if he decides to talk.” Johnson has some great friends here at Badin and he also wanted to point out that Peter Clements has a goldfish in his locker.
Johnson is in his third year here at Badin. He came here from Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School. His first impression of Badin was that it was a fun place. His favorite thing about it is the Snickers bars at lunch. A big reason Johnson decided to join the Ramily was because his big brother went here. The Johnson family is very big with six kids from the oldest, 20, and the youngest, 9. They are also owners of four dogs, CJ, Griffey, Zoey, and Charlie.
Johnson enjoys playing baseball and cheering for the Reds, even though he knows that they aren't the best. Although his favorite team is the Reds, his favorite color is blue. His favorite song is “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and his favorite food to eat is pot-stickers.
The Banner staff looks forward to working with Johnson over the school year!
