The Farm Girl Inside of Leah
by Zoe Hargis
Who would've thought that animals could teach you a life lesson?
Well this is what Leah Krause believes. Krause has grown up with animals her entire life and, even for a short time had lived on a farm in Hamilton,Ohio.
Krause has a special animal of her own who was previously known as Phillip, a 260 pound pig. This pig has been put into competitions at the local Butler County Fair where Krause and her family show it off for sale. Krause and her family are yearly returners to this fair she's been attending her entire life.
Growing up in a family with animals she's been around them ever since she was young, and has developed a deep kind of love for them. From being around the culture of animals for so long one thing that she has learned is that animals “can teach you life lessons.” I believe this statement to be true as I've seen it be played out in Leah Krause’s life.
This lesson will really help her in her future endeavors as she wishes to attend Duke University in hopes of becoming a neurosurgeon. Krause has always wanted to become a neurosurgeon with her helping spirit and love for the medical field. She believes that attending Duke University will be a great first step in starting her future as a neurosurgeon for their stellar medical program.
Krause's love for animals and big hopes for the future has shaped her into the bright goal getting young girl she is today.
