Yoga

Yoga means 'to connect'. Through the study of yoga asanas, philosophy, anatomy and meditation, yoga enables students to connect with themselves, others and the divine within.

OVERVIEW OF COURSE

In order to give students a deeper understanding of yoga as a practice, the curriculum includes learning the theory behind the yoga asanas, including the Sanskrit names and their physiological and psychological benefits. The curriculum also explores the anatomy of the poses, as well as delving into the philosophy of yoga touching on texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita. Each lesson combines theory and practice to allow students the opportunity to connect deeper within themselves and truly understand the benefits of their yoga practice.
