To instil a love of Dance and creative thinking, whilst inspiring self-confidence and respect for the Performing Arts.
OVERVIEW OF COURSE
Dance is an expressive and practical subject which develops respect between students as well as a respect for the performing arts. Dance is inclusive and allows students to take part in a physical activity in a safe learning environment. Dance provides students with a form of meditation – the mind is nowhere else but focused on the movement.
The KS3 curriculum aims to prepare students for further study, developing a range of transferable skills including teamwork, communication and leadership. Dance at KS3 contributes to a broad curriculum, with a range of dance styles and genres being studied.
