Kellie Simons

I am an artist who wants to create and tell stories; from clouds to caves, landscapes to abstracts, old fairy tales to my own fantasy stories. I’ve always enjoyed exploring the depth of my imagination and the nature around me, and bringing them together to create stories. I wanted to share that experience in my work, wondering what kind of worlds can be seen and what the people in these worlds have done. The nature of my abstract work is to go with the chaotic nature of the ink. I use that chaos to create vague thresholds of fantasy worlds and let my imagination fill in the details on the worlds and their stories.

My thesis is a collection of 13 series of ink abstracts. Each series is a world to be explored, containing stories to be told. What kind of world is Asdirdir, or Thalonder? What are the people like in Tialem? Are there people in Noxia, or are they gone? What’s the story of Misra?
