As a Pre-Art Therapy major and Gender and Sexuality Studies minor at Arcadia University, my senior thesis is focused on how abstract art can benefit people with anxiety disorders, specifically Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). My thesis paper contains a self-reflection portion where I discuss a piece I made using the El Duende art making process. I reflect on how the painting process was for me, and the feedback I received from my peers. The art piece will also be analyzed to see if there are any indicators in the artwork that relate to mental health, specifically anxiety and/or OCD.
