As a Pre-Art Therapy Major at Arcadia University, my senior thesis focuses on furthering my understanding of how color associations are formed and influenced by a person’s mood, culture, and life experiences. Understanding color associations is crucial in improving my understanding of how to approach artistic tasks with clients. Researching this topic has given me more insight into determining what materials would best suit certain client situations. Art therapy has always been a fascinating field to me because it displays how everyone’s personality and life experiences show through the creative process of art. For me, art therapy confirmed that art is not only a means of expression, but also a way to further one's understanding of themselves.
