Senior Entrance: Feeling the Moment!
Arianna Catalan
The Senior entrance for the class of 2026 was a spectacle to be seen, but for those of you who missed it or want to relive the moment, this is for you. As a senior, I might be a little biased in saying that this was the best senior entrance we have seen in the last few years. The senior entrance took place on Thursday, August 7th. It all started the night before, seniors getting their shirts ready, and not being able to sleep at night because of the nerves going through our bodies. The feeling of excitement rushed through our veins as we got ready for our big moment, the first last day of school.
In Oli’s house (our senior presidentes), as we fixed our makeup the funny TikToks to post. In all truth, this was going to become the best day of our lives. I remember grabbing my star glasses and the smoke bombs, filming videos on our phones, and taking hundreds of pictures with our friends.
Once we were in the huge truck that we had spray-painted the day before, the reality of becoming seniors started sinking in our minds. The music was so loud that our ears buzzed, and the rhythm carried through our bodies as we jumped up and down, screaming “SENIORS, SENIORS!” The truck itself shook with our energy, and even the driver couldn’t help bouncing with us.
And then our anthem came on, “A Sky Full of Stars.” In that moment, our voices united, hearts raced, and it felt like time froze. Looking around, all I could see were smiles, painted shirts, smoke filling the air, and my classmates, my family, living fully in a memory we’ll never forget. It wasn’t just a beginning; it was a promise that this year, our year, would be unforgettable.
As we arrived, the entire school was watching. Parents lined the edges of the soccer field, many of them holding back tears, phones in hand, capturing every second. Some parents cried openly; tears of pride, of nostalgia, of realizing that their kids were now in their last year, one step away from graduating, and another from going to college. Younger students stared in awe, imagining the day it would be their turn.
Then came the big stage moment. We ran across the field and climbed onto the platform, the heat of the sun beating down on us but not slowing us for a second. The music blasted, and we danced our hearts out; sweat, laughter, shouted, and joy all mixed. Under the blazing sun, the stage wasn’t just a platform; it was ours, and we owned it.
Afterward, we embraced our parents for pictures, their tears turning into smiles as they hugged us tight. Those photos captured something more than just a school event; they captured pride, love, and the beginning of our final chapter in high school.
Finally, we walked into class together, still buzzing with adrenaline. We were tired, sweaty, and covered in paint, but none of that mattered. What mattered was that Senior Entrance had marked us; it wasn’t just a morning; it was the start of the year we had been waiting for all our lives.
