AASCA Basketball Recap & Results

The 2024 AASCA Basketball Atlantic Division tournament took place at the Eagles’ nest, here at the American School of Tegucigalpa, in October. The event was a huge success and a great opportunity for various clubs at AST to participate as well. Our student council (STUCO) worked hard to organize the event, while Eagle Chronicles members were able to narrate some of the games and take photos and videos, and leaders of the communications club updated AST News’ Instagram page to keep audiences updated during the event.
AASCA has two divisions, girls and boys competitors. A total of eight schools participated in this tough competition. They were:
CAG: Colegio Americano de Guatemala
CIG: Colegio Interamericano de Guatemala
CDS: Country Day School Costa Rica
LCR: Lincoln School Costa Rica
VS: Village School Guatemala
EIS: Escuela Internacional Sampedrana
EAS: Escuela Americana de El Salvador
AST: American School Tegucigalpa
It was a tough competition was here at the Eagles’ nest, and all schools were worthy contenders for the trophy. This year, the boys’ division defending champions were the Lincoln School from Costa Rica, and the reigning girls’ champions were the Village School from Guatemala.
Throughout the three days of competition, all eight schools participating fought hard, and on Saturday, we finally got to the games everyone was waiting for. The defining games. The results were as follows.
Boys Division:
3rd place: Country Day School Costa Rica
2nd Place: Lincoln School Costa Rica
1st Place: American School Tegucigalpa
Girls Division:
3rd Place: American School Tegucigalpa
2nd Place: Country Day School Costa Rica
1st Place: Village School Guatemala
