WHAT WE'RE LEARNING IN CLASS

I attached pictures of the kids with their Gingerbread House creations! Read how we incorporated the 6 C's below.

6 C's

In Alpine School District this year, we are focusing heavily on what we call the 6 C's: Collaboration, Citizenship, Character, Compassion, Communication, and Creativity. Read below to see how we used these this week.

Collaboration: Students worked together in collaborative partnerships to plan and build gingerbread houses that had to include a light. They designed the house and circuit together and executed their plan. Everyone needed to participate and contribute to this project. Students listened to each other and respected each other’s ideas.

Communication: Students worked with a group and were expected to communicate throughout the project. They expressed their ideas verbally. They will be presenting their projects to other classes on Monday.

Critical Thinking: Students will use critical thinking when researching and designing their circuits for their lights. They will use their knowledge about circuits and expand that knowledge when building their final product. They will ask questions and find the answers during the research part of the project.

Creativity: Students were creative in their designs and final product. They created any design for their gingerbread house and were creative in making their lights work in their houses. They had to revise their designs several times and listened to other’s ideas when building their houses and circuits.
