Last week I was tempted to say the weather was a true sign of early Spring! Looking out the window today, I admit this was an exaggeration or some other figure of speech other than the plain truth! If this is Spring, it is a kind of Spring that is trying hard to disguise itself.
Here is that waxed Amaryllis you saw last week, and this week! That big bud has snaked its way to the top!
Outside, our Eastern Gray Squirrel is rooting for goodies under melting snow. The Black one also has to do this search! You probably think that every other day is snowfree and the others snow-ful. It does seem like that here too. If you have been wondering why there is that little purplish rug out there all winter, ask someone else!
The pulmonaria, given me by Eleanor Rosenthal from Potsdam years ago, does a good job of handling that back-and-forth winter weather. So does the Thistle variety on its right. They both take the switch between frozen and molten as if it were natural! (It is!)
I'll bet you didn't know we had a tree that grows right down into the water in the Pond! Well, this is it!
Here is the Other Pond, the one that has a little green decorative thingy at the lower right. We use this one for the Other Animals.
Well, that seems to be about that. We'll look forward to seeing you next week (if not next season - still two months to go! Take care of your part of this Planet - let's hope it stays healthy and moves us to SPRING one of these days! Love, Martha
