I was typing February 29, 2026 when something that Chaim said the other day finally clicked. There IS NO February 29 this year since it isn't a Leap Year. However, the bright yellow petals that represented the Winter Aconites last week are still the dominant plant color this week. You can see that the honeybees are up for this treat.
A few other Spring flowers are also appearing now. Here is a Purple Hyacinth, just opening. Soon we will be seeing lots of these pretty flowers.
Last week I said "Here's some sort of Thistle". In fact, it is one of the so-called Cotton Thistles.
Indoors, those waxed Amaryllises (Amarylli?) are still going strong.
More stuff. It has started snowing on the aged lawn chair. I think it looks better with the snow than it did without!
When the snow picks up, the Pond looks better (to these old eyes!) It would look even prettier if there were something living showing up on top.
