Here is one of our resident black Squirrels. Has he discovered a treat left by Chaim?
Here is that waxy Amaryllis from last week. And then this week. Honest, they really grow this fast!
Outdoors is sometimes snow-covered and sometimes not. And sometimes a little of each. This seems to be a partly snow-covered spring plant (looks like Pulmonaria). Hard to imagine how this plant mashed flat on the ground by the cold can recover but it will!!
An Eastern Gray Squirrel seems to be snacking on something he/she found near the fence to Debby's yard. Right, another Eastern Gray. By the way, did I ever mention that the Black Squirrels (like the one at the top of this blog) are also technically Eastern Grays?
I still haven't figured out who made these tracks last week. Or what critter has a pupa that looks like picture 2 in the winter. (Probably lots of species!) Picture 3 seems to have eight legs (hint, hint), although they seem to be stuck onto it at odd angles.
Here is another of those whitish Thistle plants. (I actually got this picture this morning!) And a few other plants - hard to tell it's winter in this picture, what with all this growth!
A day when the pond is un-iced. This is making me really look forward to the frogs!
To keep me distracted from the winter, I've been making these little tiny stuffed animals. Amazing that some of the fabric comes with the hands and legs already drawn in! Maybe I'm making them look like tiny frogs because I miss my little neighborhood ones so much!
Well, folks, it seems to be about time to post off this blog. I hope it gives you a feeling that even though it's winter, a lot of living is going on! Love, Martha
