We're still in early Spring. Critters are starting to appear but more spectacularly (to my way of thinking) the flowers are coming out gradually. Here are some Virginia Bluebells, just getting into action!
Here go the May Apples, just getting started. Can you think why May? why Apple? Well, in a few weeks, there will be an obvious little round object inside those leaves, and it will be May and "apple-ish".
When I added this photo, I didn't notice the "mantis-like" arm reaching upward almost half-way across this picture. Do YOU see it now? Is it real?
The little daffodils are still blooming - not many, but lovely!
I love these tiny red squirrels. And they love Chaim, especially when he wanders out with a pocketful of almonds!
I have got to ask Dale Kennedy what this little bird is! Aha! She says it's a Dark-eyed Junco! Thanks again Dale! Now I bet she's missing this nice black bird. I bet its name contains the string "black bird".
Today is the first warmish day I can recall for a long time. Thanks, Nature! These pretty blue flowers are coming out like crazy today! iNat suggested Periwinkles, but which? Greater or Lesser?
I had an early morning meeting today and that's why this blog is out a bit later than usual. Hope everyone is having a great start to the week. I have the usual early spring nose "thing" but plan to muddle through and keep my camera pointed! Please everyone, enjoy this start to spring and keep your eyes open for the unfolding season.
Love, Martha
