Well, what a week it has been. I got through this past week repenting for the sin of having dumped a full cup of heavily creamed coffee all over the keyboard. So now I'm using a brand new keyboard for this week's blog. I love the blue flowers and heavily dotted leaves of the Pulmonaria (even though it means "Lung Wort").
There wasn't a complete replacement of all the scenery from last week to this. A few things like that "Red Deadnettle", really more a weed than a flower, remained in its adult form through a couple of weeks. And the "Flowering Quince" kept on flowering.
The May Apples continued to "bloom", and the Grape Hyacinths kept blooming too.
Those big Hyacinths really love this time of year. And so do smaller varieties.
Here is a rather common litttle fly - named for its "five spots". I think the second one must be a relative, though missing a few spots.
This is the Narrow-headed Marsh Fly. It lays its eggs in the Pond, and the babies clean up the water by eating creatures or garbage in the water.
Here is a Spider which I'm sending out for an ID.
I'm not sure what these little creatures are. Or the little black Spider, which I'm sending out for ID.
Here's something we all recognize - an Asian Lady Beetle, but it's outdoors for a change!
Here are a couple of mystery Birds. Doug White says the first is a Dark-eyed Junco, and the second is a female House Sparrow.
Here are some of the beautiful Fishes in the Pond. The first is a red Fantail. I think the second might be called a mutt.
More pretty fishes!
The little male Green Frog!
Well, that's about it for this week. Spring is definitely here although I still am not leaving plants outside all night! See you next week! Love, Martha
