Rowling House

Hi, my name is Miss Dudman and I am one of the science teachers here at Winton. I love trying new things and trying to understand the world around us. I believe you can achieve anything you wish as long as you are willing to put in some effort.

Miss Dudman

Head of Rowling House

Hi my name is Miss Stockwell and I work within the Student Welfare Team and oversee the daily world of attendance.

Your attendance and engagement in all competitions will ensure that the best house wins!

Rowling was born in 1965, Rowling's 'rags to riches' story is an inspiration, particularly as the Harry Potter manuscript got rejected 12 times, before being published. Showing that with perseverance and hard work anything is possible.  → which is the motto of the house , we may win everything but we will try our best in EVERYTHING.

Rowling became the first female BIllionaire Novelist in 2011, how soon after receiving this title Rowling gave £100 million to charity

Rowling continues to do a lot for charity, she gives away much of her wealth every year to good causes.  Her own charity Lumos concerns itself with the welfare and education of children around the world.

Rowling has inspired generations both old and young to fall under the spell of reading. Rowling characters (specifically in Harry Potter), embody friendship, loyalty and commitment which are strengths we aspire to have as a house.

‘YOU control your own life. Your own will is extremely powerful’ - J.K Rowling

Together we are your Heads of House for Rowling. School life is not always easy but our goal is to make school life fun with a bit of friendly competition, as a great wizard once said

‘Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.’

However, we cannot do this alone, and need YOUR help.

We are ready to show Winton what we are capable of...
