Where appropriate the morning duty staff may send students home in order to dress correctly and return in time for learning sessions. Where this is impractical students can loan ties and jumpers from the student helpdesk.

Outdoor Coat - Boys and Girls:

This should be plain, with no obvious logos or markings. Denim, cord, leather and leather-look items and tracksuit tops are not acceptable. Outdoor coats, gloves, hats, caps and scarves must be removed on entry to the building and placed in the student’s school bag or locker.

Bags

Students need a bag which is large enough to hold all Academy equipment including books, pencil case, PE uniform and planner. Fashion handbags and boot bags are not permitted.

Lost Property

We make every effort to reunite students with their lost property, but unclaimed items can sometimes accumulate at an alarming rate. In order to run an efficient lost property system, we have to dispose of unclaimed items at the end of each half term. Please make sure your child is aware of this policy and urge them to claim property before the disposal deadline. General lost property can be claimed from the Main Office, any items of PE equipment or kit are passed to the PE department. All lost property which is not claimed and which is suitable for sale, will be taken to a local charity.

Hair

Hair should be neat and tidy. Extreme or attention seeking styles are not suitable (e.g. bright colours or streaked coloured hair braids or severe shaved styles).

Jewellery

No jewellery except a watch and studs only in the lobe of the ear. All other piercings MUST be removed.

Any jewellery worn in the Academy will be confiscated and held safely until the student's parent or guardian can collect the items at an agreed time.

Make up

Students should not wear excessive make-up to the Academy. Students wearing excessive make-up will be asked to remove it on entry to the Academy.
