Term 3: Module 4

Workplace Rights and Responsibiliities

As a young worker, it is important to be able to identify risks and responsibilities leading to a healthy and safe workplace, and know your rights regarding employment standards.

Can you answer these questions?

What does young worker safety consist of? Do I know the employment safety requirements and am I aware of BC employment standards: safety symbols & hazards, safety & orientation training, right to refuse unsafe work, employer & employee rights & responsibilities, BC labour laws?

Where do I begin?

Everyone has the right to a safe work environment. This interactive web book explains the rights and responsibilities that employers, supervisors, and workers all have to make sure workplaces are safe and healthy.

Please watch the videos and test your knowledge (be sure to check your answer before moving to the next question).
