Assessment and Evaluation

The Career Education curriculum contributes to students’ development as educated citizens that can adapt to ongoing change with purposeful career-life development. It reflects on learning experiences both in and out of school and recognizes the importance of experiential learning, guidance from mentors, and community involvement.

The curriculum requires students to complete 30+ hours of paid or unpaid work-experience as well as a culminating Capstone research project presented in their grade 12 year.

Assessment

Modules are assessed on two criteria and the combined points value is the grade assigned to weekly work. The cumulative points for all modules in a given term will determine a students overall grade in the course.

Module Completion Rubric

All modules have been developed with the intent that it can be completed within the 1 hour weekly time period. Completed work is to be uploaded to individual student websites by the following class. Students are assigned a category based on their level of completion as to what is uploaded by the next class period.

The point value assigned in this section cannot be changed.

Module Completion - Proficiency Scale

Student work will be assessed on a sliding scale based on the level of student achievement and demonstrated learning outcomes. A student may have the opportunity to resubmit work if the teacher deems it is warranted.

The point value assigned in this section can be changed if work is resubmitted.
