Showcasing Your Strengths

In this assignment, you will think critically about highlighting your strengths as you learn about and develop your own elevator pitch.

The elevator pitch...

This is a place to work on something I like to call the 'elevator pitch'.  What is an 'elevator pitch' and why is it valuable you ask?  Well... an 'elevator pitch' is defined as... 

For the purposes of this discussion, you will be "selling yourself" in 30-60 seconds. Check out the examples below to really gain a feel for the 'elevator pitch' before you begin crafting your own to share. 

If you are keen to learn more about the elevator pitch before you begin your very own...try YouTube! There are hundreds of examples...watch a few and take away the examples that work best for you.

ASSIGNMENT

There you have it, that is the elevator pitch.

Now it is your turn.

Your task this discussion is to create your very own elevator pitch to use to introduce yourself to potential references, employers, or people in your field of interest. You may use video or audio. Your elevator pitch should be between 30 seconds and 1 minute in length.

Submission can be through video or audio link, and will be posted to your website. Include this planning document as well. 

Be prepared to share these in class!
