The course covers key aspects of life science at the molecular scale and extends to aspects of the biology of whole organisms. Learners have the opportunity to develop a sound understanding and practical experience of experimental investigative work. Key roles of proteins within the cell, cellular processes and their relation to physiological function are studied. At the whole-organism scale, the course explores how sexual reproduction and parasitism are major drivers of evolution.
