Additional Policies:

Administrator and Teacher Induction

Ventura County Office of Education Educator Support and Effectiveness (ESE) expects all credential program candidates to make timely progress toward completing their requirements in order to meet their Program Completion Date. Deadlines for program requirements are scheduled to guide and assist candidates to meet this expectation. Candidates that do not meet program deadlines will be subject to the following program policies. Fees are subject to change without notice.

Incomplete Course Assignments

Candidates who do not complete all required course assignments, including the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP), by the specified due date are assessed a $125.00 late fee and given a specific late submission deadline. Candidates who do not complete the outstanding requirements by the late submission deadline are placed on hold status in the program and will not be able to continue to the next semester. Candidates must schedule an appointment with the ESE Director in order to resume.

Missed Conferences

Candidates can make up required conferences (e.g., Technology, Teaching and Learning) by attending the same conference the following year or attending an equivalent conference approved in advance by the ESE Director. Submission of a Request for Program Extension is required. Costs of equivalent conferences and any fees that may be assessed, are candidates’ responsibility.

Re-recommendation for a Credential

Once ESE has submitted a credential recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), candidates have 90 days to complete the CTC's Professional Fitness Questionnaire and pay the CTC's application fee. If the candidate does not complete this process within the 90 days, the CTC will cancel the recommendation. Candidates will need to submit another Credential Request Form and will be assessed a $50 fee for a duplicate recommendation.
