Ventura County Office of Education Educator Support and Effectiveness (ESE) expects all credential program candidates to make timely progress toward completing their requirements in order to meet the Program Completion Date. Deadlines for program requirements are scheduled to guide and assist candidates in meeting this expectation. Candidates who do not meet program deadlines are subject to the following program policies. Fees are subject to change without notice.
VENTURA COUNTY OI AND LAD PROGRAM CANDIDATES
Candidates who do not complete all required course assignments, including portfolios, by the specified due date are assessed a $125.00 late fee and given a specific late submission deadline. Candidates who do not complete the outstanding requirements by the late submission deadline are placed on hold status in the program and will not be able to continue to the next module. Candidates must schedule an appointment with the ESE Director in order to resume.
Full participation in all online classes is a program requirement. Attendance is monitored and recorded in the Learning Management System (LMS) grade book. Candidates who are unable to participate in a class must contact the Director. At the Director's discretion, a fee may be charged for access to an online make up.
Once ESE has submitted a credential recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), candidates have 90 days to complete the CTC's Professional Fitness Questionnaire and pay the CTC's application fee. If the candidate does not complete this process within the 90 days, the CTC will cancel the recommendation, and the candidate will need to submit another Credential Request Form. VCOE assesses a $50 fee for a duplicate recommendation.
