An update from the Students' Union President, Amaan...
"It's been a busy few weeks as always at the Students' Union. Your SU Officers have been out and about speaking to students while promoting TOTUM student discount cards, and are going to continue doing this for the rest of the year. If you see us around, come and say hi!
From next week we will be launching Well-Being Cafès over lunchtimes, for students to pop into to make new friends, do some casual crafts,be signposted to help and support, or for just a quieter place to sit and chat. The upcoming dates for these are below.
Both myself and the SU Officers have been thinking about and planning campaigns for the year and these will be rolling out in the coming months. Thanks so everyone who has supported our work so far!"
As Amaan has said, this term we are launching Well-Being Cafès at different campuses, to provide a safe space to meet new people, get help and support and do some relaxed activities. The dates and locations they will be running are below:
City Campus, in Upper Student Central: 21st February 1-2pm, 8th May 12:30-1:30
Peaks Campus, in the Attic: 31st January 1-2pm, 7th March 1-2pm, 18th April 12:30-1:30pm
Hillsborough Campus, in the HE Study Room in the LRC: 7th February 12-1pm, 2nd May 12:30-1:30
Olive Grove, in the LRC space: 26th April 12:30-1:30
Pop in to these Well-Being Cafès if you're about, have a chat to us, do some mindful colouring and make some friends!
Don't forget to get involved in clubs and societies at College!
Our Students' Union Fundraising Club have been fundraising throughout the year, and have some more planned, so keep an eye out for them next time you're on campus.
There's plenty of different clubs or enrichment opportunities to get involved in at The Sheffield College, so why not?!
You can read the next page of this newsletter for more information about different things to get involved in, or email us at studentsunion@sheffcol.ac.uk
