There are so many ways that you can get involved in the Students' Union or Student Voice, find out more below...
Not sure where to begin or have questions? Contact us and we'll happily talk to you!
The Students' Union is ran by student volunteers who are elected into 'Officer' roles. The Officers act as advocates for students, planning events, clubs and campaigns to improve student experience. There are plenty of Officer roles, from LGBTQ+ Officer to Enrichment Officer, to Environmental Officer, so there's something to suit everyone!
More information about the roles and how to become an Officer can be found here.
Any students can take part in the Students' Union, you don't have to be an Officer! You can still get involved in Students' Union activities, vote in SU elections and promote active citizenship within the College whether you are an Officer or not.
So do feel free to contact us if you are interested in being involved in the Students' Union.
There is plenty of enrichment on offer at College - we have a sport enrichment team, the Students' Union, and curriculum areas and the libraries also offer clubs and activities.
You can find out more about the current enrichment offer here.
You can also apply to set up a club through the Student's Union, where the team may be able to help you with the running of activities. Is there a club or society that we don't currently have that you would like at College? Fill in the form here
The College and the Students' Union also run campaigns throughout the year, supporting different causes and raising awareness for certain issues. Keep an eye on your student emails and the Student Newsletter for any upcoming ones, and feel free to email us if you want to get involved.
Our Student Newsletter is emailed out to all students' email addresses at the end of each month, containing information about exciting upcoming events and activities in the College, and providing reminders and updates. This is designed to be a collaborate project between staff and students, so the more students who get involved the better!
We are open to suggestions and feedback, as well as contributions. Is there something exciting happening in your curriculum area? Is there something that you think all of our students should know about?
Email us at studentsunion@sheffcol.ac.uk if you have any ideas or want to contribute.
Student Voice is a key way that the College improves the student experience. Gathering feedback from students, we can really pick out key areas that might need some improvements, or implement suggestions.
All students are encouraged to take part in Student Voice, this can be done by being a student rep, filling out the student surveys, going to a student voice drop in session, or even just popping a suggestion in our suggestion box.
You can find out more about all these different things here.
