There are lots of different ways to provide feedback if you any suggestions or feedback from your student experience in College.
Below are some ways you can do this...
Feedback & Suggestions Box (and online form)
At City campus (in Upper Student Central, next to the Library) we have a Student Voice feedback and suggestions box. There are some slips of paper to use - fill one out, providing as much detail as possible, and pop it in the box!
It would be really helpful if you can write your name and student number on it, so we can contact you. This might be to either get more details, let us know we have implemented your suggestion, or to invite you to have a discussion about it. We will contact you at your student email address so make sure you are checking it.
Alternatively, we also have an online feedback and suggestion form that works the same way. This can be found here.
Student Voice Drop-Ins
We are now hosting Student Voice drop-in sessions at City and Hillsborough campuses. These will take place on the following dates and times:
City: Tuesdays 10-11am
Hillsborough: Thursdays 10-11am
Rachel, the College's Student Voice Coordinator will be free to chat to you about any feedback you have or issues that you want to discuss about your student experience. She will be in the Students' Union Office - at City this is in Upper Student Central, and at Hillsborough this is behind reception.
Pop in to say 'hi' and bring any suggestions or feedback you might have!
If you want to talk to Rachel but can't make these drop-ins, email studentvoice@sheffcol.ac.uk and she will organise to meet with you at another time in person or online.
Talk to your group's Student Rep
Your tutor group should have elected a Student Rep at the beginning of the academic year. If you have some feedback that you want them to bring to a Student Reps Forum, have a chat to them and they can pass it onto the staff. If your group doesn't have a Student Rep, why not put yourself forward? Talk to your tutor about this.
Participate in the Student Surveys
The largest piece of Student Voice work that the College runs is the Student Surveys. For students on a further education (levels 1-3) courses there are three of these every year, one in October, one in January and one in June. For higher education courses, students will have one in October and one in January. For Apprentices, they run at different times depending on when you start your apprenticeship, so keep an eye out. Tutors will let you know when the surveys are open.
These surveys are filled out by thousands of students every year, and provide really valuable data for the College to know what is going well for students, and what needs improvements. Please make sure you fill these out, as the results really do impact decisions that are made in the College.
