Celebrating LGBT+ History Month with our LGBT+ Officer, Leo...
February has been LGBT+ History Month, and Leo, our LGBT+ Officer has been involved in the College's celebrations of the month. They have run an inclusive, gender-affirming make up and face paint stall at City campus, which was really successful and they are hoping to run more at different sites!
They have also visited a youth group run by Say IT and spoke to the teens who go there about what they would like to see the College doing to support LGBTQ+ students and got some amazing feedback that they have shared with staff.
Here's what Leo had to say about what LGBT+ History Month means to them...
"This month is important to me because it reminds me to honour all the fallen LGBTQ+ community members, it reminds us of all the things that have happened and what we can do to prevent it going forward. Whilst some things aren’t preventable or known its best to honour those who have passed on, not to dwell on the past because otherwise you can become it.
So I guess what I’m trying to say is people have fallen and will continue to fall, but we need to focus on how to stop or prevent those things from happening and look to the future or what the future could be.
I hope you all have learnt about something new over this month and I will hopefully see you all around the different campuses!"
An Update from Students' Union President, Amaan...

The theme will be "Healthy Vision" and if you would like to contribute as a speaker or performer, please don't hesitate to get in contact!"
