LucidPress

As an alternative to MS Publisher or Adobe CS, LucidPress includes over 70 templates for both print and digital newsletters, flyers, pamphlets, books and more. It provides students with the opportunity to learn many 21st Century Skills in an engaging environment. It can be used for interdisciplinary, collaborative projects.

Lucid Press integrates with Google Drive and is an app in the Chrome Webstore. The collaboration feature allows teachers to create a "team" of students so that their projects are automatically shared with the teacher who can watch in real time. They can work together on documents then publish them to the LucidPress site, download them as a pdf or embed them in a blog or ePortfolio. Past projects have included:

  • A training magazine by teachers who went to a conference

  • A toy catalog by 5th grade students

  • A brochure for a conference

  • Materials for a presentation for a water park

Students are even able to collaborate with other classes and schools. The learning curve for LucidPress is low, and students and teachers of all skill levels can use it to create amazing products. It integrates with Google Classroom and Google Drive, allowing everyone easy access to the program with their school Google account.

The LucidPress Help Center has all the information you would need to get started; they have step by step guides and videos located here.
