Using Screen Annotations

There are other ways to comment on something on the web; just because it isn't a Google Doc, doesn't mean you can't leave comments for a student. Even if it is a Google Doc, sometimes teachers find it easier to comment this way rather than by using the commenting feature in Google. The sharing works a little different using the following tools, but all are practical ways to giving good feedback.

Hypothesis Bookmarklet

Students and teachers can add this extension in their web browser to discuss, collaborate or make personal notes on a website. For others to see what you are annotating, you need to leave the comments as public. Once you share the page, only the people you share it with can see what you have written.

Mendeley PDF Reader for iPad

This is a free PDF Reader and reference manager for students and teachers. You can read and annotate PDFs and collaborate with others in private groups. Mendeley can be used offline and allows you to download to help manage storage space.

Taking Screenshots

Sometimes taking a screenshot is what you need to do. You can take a quick "picture" of what you can see on the screen and share it with someone. Here are the ways you can take a screenshot on different devices.
