Google Sites

Special thanks to Julianna Perkins for help on this site.

Google sites is a structured wiki and web page creation tool offered by Google as part of the Google Apps for Work (or Education) productivity suite. The goal of Google Sites is for anyone to be able to create a team-oriented site where multiple people can collaborate and share files. (Wikipedia)

Students can use Google Sites to create ePortfolios. Because teachers can create a template, you can easily set up a design your class, grade level, school or the district can use as a way for students to save their "best of the best" each year to show growth to not only colleges but to employers as well. The most exciting part is you can use the AddOn siteMaestro to send out the same template to each student that can easily be monitored, evaluated, etc.

How else can I use Google Sites?

  • Teacher Web Pages

    • Using a google site for your teacher web page allows you to effortlessly update lesson plans, files, announcements, and many more tools through your Google Apps for Education account provided by Sanger ISD.

  • Classroom/Club Web Site

    • Create a webpage for a particular class, and invite your students to add content and keep it updated!

  • Research Projects

    • Students have access to create their own site as well! Have your students use Google Sites to create a multimedia research project. Here is a presentation on a project completed in Spring 2015.
