Grades 11 & 12: 1 Credit

College Board recommends that students are enrolled in or have completed Pre-calculus.Physics is the branch of science that seeks to understand the physical universe mathematically, so that we can predict what will happen next. AP Physics 1 (2 semesters) covers the topics of one- and two-dimensional motion, force, inertia, energy, power, momentum, collisions, circular and rotational motion, gravity, harmonic motion, waves, sound, light, electricity and magnetism. Students will prepare to take the AP Physics 1 Exam. Following the AP Exam, as time allows, we will cover the topics of thermodynamics and/or fluid mechanics. Students will use both traditional and Vernier lab equipment to collect and analyze data, and hone problem-solving and technical writing skills with the completion of formal lab reports.
