This course would introduce students to the practical way laws impact their daily lives. “Street Law courses strive to empower young people to be active, engaged citizens by equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully participate and create change in their communities.” (StreetLaw.org) This course would create opportunities for students to explore practical legal problems and contemporary legal issues. Students will examine and demystify civil, contract, and family law on a national, state, and local scale. There will be a strong emphasis on written work along with case studies and mock trials.
