Grades 10-12: 1 Credit College Prep (Honors Option)
Required Sequence: Successful Completion of Theater I
What is the process of creating, writing, and producing a play?
This project based course is designed for students who are comfortable and enjoy performing on stage, have experience doing so, and are ready to study performance techniques and production in depth. Students study examples of classic to contemporary drama and produce a number of student-directed productions. They learn and employ techniques for script writing, interpretation, and analysis. In addition to performance-based assessments, students are required to write critiques and play scripts. The semester culminates with the performance of an original student written and directed one act play. An emphasis is on creativity and collaboration.
